How to protect your digital downloads

Every marketer who sells a downloadable product online (be it an Ebook, or software program), should be aware of the fact that their download -or "Thank-You"- page, can be found by entering specific terms via Google, or any other search engine.

That's why you need to protect your download pages.

To do this, you can add some simple meta tags to your page(s), like this:

When you sell a .PDF file, you should also "zip" it, because the search engines can read .PDF files. You can use a free copy of jZip to do that.

Another method to prevent people from stealing your product is by adding an index.htm file in your download folder. If you don't add an index page, the folder will be open, and anyone can get your goods.

You can also use an Ebook compiler program that includes complete security, like Ebook Starter. You can download a free trial from the web site to see how it can work for you.

Doing this will prevent the search engines from listing your download pages to non-paying customers, reducing product theft, and increasing your income.

How to pick the right Clickbank product to promote

Do you know how to choose a product from the Clickbank market place that you know will be profitable?

When it comes to choosing and promoting Clickbank products it is a good idea to have a solid criteria that you can use to decide if the product is going to be profitable and worth your time and effort.

A few of the key things you should look at are Gravity score, competition, the salesletter, the commission rate and the price of the actual product.

In this first lesson let's talk about the Clickbank gravity score and how it will help you choose the right products to promote.

What exactly is Clickbank gravity? This is a question that continues baffle many affiliates.

According to Clickbank the gravity score is:

The number of distinct affiliates who earned a commission by referring a paying customer to the vendor's products. This is a weighted sum and not an actual total. For each affiliate paid in the last eight weeks they add an amount between 0.1 and 1.0 to the total. The more recent the last referral, the higher the value added.

It doesn't actually have anything to do with the total amount of sales that have been made for a particular product.

In layman terms a high gravity score indicates that affiliate marketers are earning plenty of commissions on sales from the product.

A low gravity indicates that there haven't been many sales for the product at all.

So as you can see the actual gravity of a product is an important indicator of how successful a product is selling.

Here is a quick example of how you can interpret the gravity score. Let's say for instance that the product has a score of 447, that means that 447 affiliates have made a sale for that product within the last eight weeks.

Keep in mind that this doesn't reflect the amount of sales made by each affiliate. It could be that 447 affiliates made one sale each or that three affiliates made 149 sales each. There is really no way to tell for sure. But it can lead you to the conclusion that a high gravity score often
means more competitors.

It is important to keep in mind that it will be more difficult to make money from a product that has a large number of affiliates promoting it.

A good rule of thumb is to aim for products that have a referral percentage below 65%. This means you will have less competition.

If you don't mind the competition it is perfectly OK to promote products with a higher gravity score. Simply because these products have been proven to be successful sellers and you can be sure that there is a market for them.

Then again, there are lots of extremely valuable products on Clickbank that have a far lower gravity score with less competition. Of course the choice is completely up to you, but I recommend that you keep your product choices limited to ones with a gravity of 20 or higher.

Because most products below that just won't make any money for you no matter how much you promote them.

After you have found several products that meet your criteria based on the gravity score you can begin looking at the other variables like evaluating the sales letter, cost and commissions.

By understanding how the Clickbank gravity score works you can be more confident that you are picking the most profitable products to promote.

How to use PLR the right way with PLR Cash Machine

PLR stands for private label rights.

It works so simple...

You buy a product (like an Ebook or a special report) that somebody else has created, re-edit the content, give it a new title, and you sell it and keep the profit.

If you think about it, it's exactly what you see in a supermarket..

Supermarket-owned brand products are effectively private label rights.

They buy private label rights for somebody else's baked beans or shampoo, for example, and sell the product with their own label on it.

PLR is "cheap product creation".

You can hire somebody to ghost-write an Ebook, and yes, it would be unique, but the trouble is that's likely to cost you an awful lot of money.

A decent Ebook will cost you $500 to $1,000 to write.

A decent software program or video series, $500 to $2,000, perhaps even more.

With PLR, you can buy a decent-quality video series for pennies on the dollar, compared to how much it would cost to get it made for yourself.

If you buy PLR, be sure to use it within 14 days or it will just gather 'cyber dust' and you'll never profit from it.

Too many marketers purchase PLR material on impulse and then they decide to not use it.

Before you purchase PLR material, take a minute to decide if you actually NEED it.

If you do go ahead with your purchase, save your PLR material to your desktop, so you're constantly reminded to edit your PLR product.

Have an idea before you buy what you're going to do with it.

Decide for example how you will repackage it to sell BEFORE you buy.

Using Bonuses...

If you're selling a product and you want some bonus items, private label rights are just perfect.

What you can do is buy some PLR, give it a little bit of a refresh and a rewrite, and there you are: suddenly you've got your bonus items, and they're all YOUR unique products, which of course adds value to your main product.

You see, if somebody looks at your sales page and say; "Well, I've already have that bonus," what are they going to do?

They're going to turn around and leave; "Well, it's not really worthwhile. I've got most of those."

No matter what you might think, people look at the bonus items, and if they don't feel there's value in the bonus items, they may not buy.

So, make sure they're unique. Make sure they're yours, and that people know they can't get them anywhere else.

A warning about using PLR content...

I would like to take out a minute to warn you about using Private Label Rights products...

As you may know, PLR allow the buyer to turn those products into his or her own.

I myself am a 100% PLR-junkie, and I use PLR to create new Ebooks and eCourses all the time...

PLR content can save you tons of your precious time.

The problem is, even though it allows the buyer to put their name on it as the publisher, PLR is sometimes sold with limited rights in terms of passing along the Private Label

Rights, or even the Master Resale Rights to that product.

In other words, you can change the product, put your name on it, etc, but can?t even sell the Resale Rights to it yourself.

That is not always the case, but you should be very careful when purchasing a Private Label Rights product if you want to have unlimited rights to turn it around.

There are different products that come with Private Label Rights.

- PLR videos are not a great example, since you can?t really change the video content.

I hardly consider video series true Private Label Rights content.

PLR products are great if you get liberal rights to resell them.

- PLR content such as articles are great for putting things together like this email series, these newsletters.

PLR content can be your best friend, but choose wisely. Make sure it is interesting, well written, and up-to-date.

How to create a perfect squeeze page

As an Info-Marketer, you know how important it is to collect email addresses from people who visit your website.

When potential customers leave your site without making a sale, or without leaving their email address, you have lost that person forever. You just cannot afford to waste any of your site traffic.

A great tool to sign up new subscribers to your list is an effective squeeze page.

A squeeze page, or landing page, where you collect email addresses from your visitors, should stand out. You need to make a great first impression with it's design and graphics.

Here are some of the main features of a great looking squeeze page:

Create a great headline

The headline should explain exactly what you have to offer and get your first time visitor excited about your product/Ebook/service.

Explain what your product will do for them, and keep it simple and to the point. Grab attention by using a huge font in red, and create interest by using words like 'secret', 'shocking', etc.

Use a professional cover

Place your well designed product cover(s) below the headline. The purpose of your cover is to increase conversions. People like to see a graphical image of your product, so make it stand out.

Use a recent photo of yourself

This is not mandatory, but it can make a difference. When people see your face, they will consider you as a real person, and tend to trust you more. Nobody likes to share his/her details with a stranger, especially online.

Use bullet points

Easy to read bullet points will draw people into your copy/offer. Sum up all the benefits of your product to make your potential subscriber/customer warm for your offer.

Use a call to action

Right below the bullet points, and above the sign up box where your autoresponder is placed, you can invite people to enter their name and email address by telling them exactly what they need to do to join your list.

"Just fill in your name and email in the form below to get instant access to your free report" is a good example.

You should also explain that you will never share their details with other parties, and that you hate spam just as much as they do.

Professional opt-in form

To make your opt-in form look professional, you should never use fancy colors like green or pink. Keep it simple. Nothing fancy needed here. You run a serious business. Show it by using a clean design.

Sign up instructions

Askl your visitors to use their primary email address whe they join, and explain exactly what they will miss if they do not use their correct address. Also, make it clear to them that when they enter their details, they need to confirm their request/subscription or they will not get your free offer.

End with your name

It's good practice to add an image of your handwritten signature below your squeeze page. You can scan your signature in a scanner, or design one in your graphical software by using a graphical tablet.

There are also websites that will create a signature for you, just check Google for "handwritten signature". Successfull marketers use a handwritten signature on their sales page. You should do it too. It will separate you from the amateurs.

That's it. Follow these simple steps to creating a perfect squeeze page, and your will soon see a difference in sign ups.

How To Import PLR Articles Into A WordPress Blog

If you are like me, then you probably have hundreds of PLR articles sitting on your hard disk right now, collecting digital dust.

PLR articles are great to fill your blog with content... but it can take a lot of time to import each article, one by one, and manually set them to post at a future date. Especially if you are posting a few hundred articles.

Now, what if you could put up all those articles on your blog with one simple mouse click, and set them to go out on a specific date and time?

I just found a new plugin for WordPress blogs that allows you to import PLR articles with a few mouse clicks. Check the video to see it in action:

The PLR To Wordpress plugin does all the work for you. You just upload the plugin, choose how often you want the plugin to post your articles and you're done.

All articles should be in .txtx format, and look like this:

first line = title
blank line
then the article body

PLR To WordPress plugin can read the first line and create the title for each post automatically for you, as long as your articles have the format mentioned above.

To check, open the file in Notepad or any other text editor, and if the first line is the title, then a blank line, then the article you are good.

Note: it's best to post your articles not all at once, as Google likes to give regulary updated blogs a higher listing. The plugin will take care of that. You can choose how often your articles get posted; every hour, every other day...

Randomizing the postings is a very important feature as it removes traces of automated article posting, which Google (and other search engines) dislike.

You can even use the plugin on as many blogs as you want. And you are not limited to PLR content alone.

You can also use the plugin if you write your own articles (they need to be in .txt format), and want to post them on your blog without any hassle.

As An Info-Publisher You Should Always Be In Sales Mode

There are so many people out there nowadays claiming to be sales guru's. It seems like every where I look I see some self proclaimed “sales master” telling me I can become a millionaire if I just read his “free” report! These guys crack me up.

The sad part about it is that they're still around because people fall for their cunning sales pages and buy their products. What actually qualifies you to be a sales “expert” worthy of selling your secrets to someone anyway?

Have you ever done hard core, 100% commission, door to door sales in 115 degree weather (or -20 degrees for that matter) wearing a 3 piece suit?

Have you ever built a power house team of cold contacting sales experts from scratch, selling pizza coupons door to door none the less? Let me guess.. “NO!” . . . to that one as well.

I would love to do an experiment one day and take one of these “sales gurus” let him pick the time, place and product, then put me on one side of the street and him on the other and lets see what happens.

No need to wait for the results, I'll can tell you right now what will happen, I will BLOW them away! That is a fact.

I'm not trying to be cocky or arrogant here I 'm simply stressing a point. I 'm an accomplished professional, hard core sales expert and I 'm available to prove it any day of the week.

I believe what sets me apart from the rest of these clowns is my attitude. I am always in sales mode, I am relentless in my pursuit of buyers. That is the key.

I don't just find the closest human being with a pulse and try to cram my product down their throat whether they need it or not. Instead, I bust my hump and move from person to person until I identify my buyer.

Here's the best part... when I do find a buyer, I've struck gold!

This is because I'm not just going to sell him one item. I'm going to sell him (or her) everything I can! Thats the difference between me and them. I smarten up, I open the market up!

I don't try to turn a “NO” into a “YES” because that will only turn around to bite me in the ass later. Instead, I quickly identify buying and non-buying signs to determine whether or not this prospect is worthy of my sales pitch.

Here's 3 simple things you can do to increase your sales regardless of what you sell or where you sell, Internet, face to face, telemarketing, whatever... It doesn't matter. This stuff works everywhere and if you're not doing it your just missing the boat!

#1 Always be in a hurry. This is called “Urgency” I've got no time to sit down and have a cup of coffee with you Mr. Prospect. I've got BUYERS to get to. So lets get this deal closed and we can both get on with our busy day.

#2 Be prepared for EVERY objection. A sale without an objection is like a bowl of cereal without the milk. Expect several objections during every presentation. Thats whats supposed to happen!!! Edify the prospect, give them your pre-rehearsed rebuttal and CLOSE the deal!

#3 Take Control! No one is going to stop you in your tracks and say “Are you a salesman?? Here's my money I'll take everything you've got!” You have to get over the fear of rejection and TELL them it's time to pay for their product.

Train your customer to say yes to you throughout your pitch with close ended questions. This way they wont hesitate to reach for their wallets when you tell them it's time to pay.

Why You Should Not Use YouTube Videos On Your Site

I'm sure that if you've ever thought about putting video on your website, you've had the thought...

"Why don't I just use YouTube.com to put video on my website?"

I've seen people on webmaster forums giving advice...

"Yeah, use YouTube! It saves bandwidth and it's free!"

Well, let me break the news to you.

You should almost NEVER use YouTube to put a video on your website if it's a website for your business or if it's any kind of important video.

YouTube is great for personal videos AND videos that you're trying to get to "go viral," but not for videos for your business's website.

3. YouTube shows little "thumbnails" (ads) for othervideos after your video finishes. So another video (possibly a competitor's video) could distract your visitor from your site. In fact, clicking on a YouTube video on a page while it's playing opens up YouTube.com, which completely loses your visitor's focus and attention!

4. YouTube videos can be slow & unreliable. Sometimes you'll get an error when trying to watch a video, such as, "We're sorry, this video is no longer available." Not very good if you want to market 100% to your customers, is it?

5. When you put a video on YouTube, you have no control over the quality or file size of the video. It's set to how THEY want it, not how YOU need it.

6. Video playlists are more user-friendly and easier to make and use with VideoWebWizard 2.0 than with Youtube.

7. With VideoWebWizard, you can brand a video on-the-fly with a company logo, copyright notice, or other image. YouTube doesn't have this feature.

8. You can set a "Completion URL" in VideoWebWizard so that when a visitor finishes watching your video, they're automatically redirected to the URL you set. (This is great for affiliate marketing) YouTube doesn'thave this feature.

How to profit in niche marketing

One question that people keep asking me is how they can survive, selling Info-Products in this oversaturated Information Market, where competition is high.

You know how it goes... Someone releases a new Ebook with resell rights, and the next day, you see some other marketer offering the same product at a 50% discount.

It's not easy competing with people who sell below the price, especially, when it comes to Internet Marketing products.

Now, if you don't have a big list to sell your Info-Products too, you should consider niche markets.

I've personally made a lot of profits lately selling Ebooks that are related to a certain niche; family, health, children, schooling, time management, etc...

The reason why it's much easier to sell niche products to a small group of people than selling Internet Marketing related products, is because IM products are being sold by people with HUGE lists to other marketers who see the same offers pop up everywhere.

There's just too much competition, so it's wiser to stick with small ;-)

For example, does your product appeal to gardeners? That’s a wide market, so you can narrow it down. Who is most likely to be interested? People looking for information about houseplants? Roses? Bonsai trees?
After narrowing it down as far as you can, think of appropriate keywords. Check with Google to see how many websites come up using your keywords.

Next you can use a website that tracks keyword usage (such as Word Tracker or Overture) to see if there are plenty of users looking for your specific information. If there are enough potential customers and the competition is low, you may have found your perfect niche.

After you have chosen your niche, try to set up a website around it, and use the keywords in your domain name. This will help your website ranking, and make interested people find your site faster.

It's a fact... choosing the right niche will make you sales. Just be sure to find a niche with plenty of potential customers and little competition.

But where do you find niche Info-Products?

You can join a niche membership club. Or you can search Google for Info-Products that contain your niche keyword.

Fireballs and a confession...

I confess... I am an addict...

But it's not what you think...

I am an addict for anything related to resale rights.

You may know that by now... and in case you don't, now you do - but keep it between us ;-)

Here's how it goes...

Everytime I receive (and read) an email from one of my marketer friends about a new product that they
created with resale rights, I instantly hear a cash register going off in my mind...

... sounding like...

And the worst thing is that I simply can't resist.

Note: To get to the "Posting" section you need to click on your blog title found on the Dashboard main page. On the Edit Profile page I recommend that you scroll down and fill out the "About Me" section. See my own blog to get an idea of what you might want to enter. Make sure to Save your changes. You can always modify this later.

Next, click on your blog title, go to the "Posting"section, and click on "Create". Now you're ready to grab relevant articles from IGR to "fill" your blog with content...

4-5 articles should be plenty to start. You'll want to post a new article or two each week (which will only take a couple minutes thanks to IGR). But right now you just need some starter content.

You can find thousands of affiliate products and opportunities at places such as ClickBank.com, AsociatePrograms.com, CommissionJunction.com...

You can insert affiliate links (and related ads) right within the articles you obtain from IGR and post to your BLOG! You can also add affiliate links in your blog's "Link list" if you like.

To learn how to modify your Link list, go to Blogger's Help menu and Search on "links". Click on "How do I edit my link list?" to proceed. You'll also be invited to participate in Google's popular "Adsense" program inside your Blogger account (on the Dashboard home page).

Some people make thousands in commissions every month with Adsense alone! This is one of the most effective ways to monetize your new blog. Google provides you with instructions on how to easily incorporate Adsense listings into your BLOG.
